Three Earn Top NJCAA Academic Student-Athlete Awards

Youngwood, PA - Westmoreland County Community College student-athletes Shelby Kimmick, Kylee Surike and Julienne Goehring were recently named to the NJCAA Academic Student Athlete Awards for the 2016-2017 academic year. Sophomore, Shelby Kimmick, a four-sport athlete, was named second team NJCAA All-Academic Honors in Women's Softball, Women's Cross Country, Women's Soccer and Women's Basketball. Two freshman were named to the NJCAA Academic Honors, Julienne Goehring, Women's Bowling and two-sport athlete Kylee Surike, Women's Basketball and  Golf. They both earned second team NJCAA All-Academic Honors. Congratulations!

Requirements for Academic Student-Athlete Awards

• NJCAA All-Academic First Team: 4.00 GPA
• NJCAA All-Academic Second Team: 3.80-3.99 GPA
• NJCAA All-Academic Third Team: 3.60-3.79 GPA
