Thirty-four Student Athletes Earn Academic Awards

Youngwood, PA - The Western Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference announced its 2017 fall WPCC Academic Awards as Westmoreland County Community College had a conference best of 34 student athletes awarded academic honors. Fall athletes competed in cross country, soccer, golf, basketball and volleyball while maintaining a GPA of 3.00 or higher while balancing their academics and athletics during throughout the semester. Athletic Director Dick Holler stated, "Congratulations, it's a great accomplishment for these student athletes to be recognized for their academic achievements in the classroom. These athletes recognize the importance of academics and athletics and all of the sacrifices which go hand in hand in being a true student athlete".

High Honors: 3.50 - 4.00
Vivian Bishop, Chelsi Bartlow, Alexa DeFrank, Kaylin Heatley, Megan Sensue, Terri Walter, Matthew Jenkins, Regis Pekar, Brittany Hollis, Scott Myshin, Bailey Stapelton, Vincent Ferragonio, Chase Poole, Jason Lohr, Hannah Hempfield, Lauren Felix, Emily Oswald and Kyle Carrington, Michael McGrail. 

Honors: 3.00 - 3.49
Rose Lavelle, Joshua Gelet, Jordan Stack, Rachel Garris, Kylee Surike, Mitchell Anzovino, Nathan Irgang, Emmanauel Lebbie, Trevor Nelson, Phoenix Brown, Zachary Modrak, Baylee Riggle, Alyssa Kalp and Nicholas Porter.
