Matlas and Vallorani Honored with Gold Glove Award

Youngwood, PA - Mitch Matlas and Brett Vallorani were honed in between the home men's and women's basketball games last week for being the recipients of the 2016 Rawlings Gold Glove Award which is awarded each year to the nation's top defensive player at each defensive position in the NJCAA Division III Baseball. Matlas received his award as the top defensive center fielder while Vallorani earned his as the nation's top defensive third baseman. Both players made major contributions to the teams successful post season run as they finished at 20-15 on the season. On hand for the ceremony were Brett Vallorani, Mitch Matlas, Terry Mularski, assistant baseball coach, Mike Draghi, head baseball coach, Sydney Beeler, vice president of Enrollment Management and Dick Holler director of Student Life and Athletics. The Gold Glove Award is the first in the baseball program's history.
