Athletic Department claims WPCC Awards

Western Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference (WPCC) president, Frank Kaufman announced at the conference's annual spring meetings that Westmoreland County Community College was the recipient of the 2013-14 WPCC Sportsmanship Award winner.  Kaufman stated, “WCCC student athletes, coaches and game personnel demonstrated a high level of sportsmanship by supporting teammates, officials, coaches, opponents and fans as long as being a positive spectator at college venues. WCCC has been a leader in sportsmanship at the highest level for all and that they should be commended for their efforts”. WCCC director of athletics Dick Holler stated, “We’re extremely honored and proud of our student athletes and coaches for representing WCCC in such a positive manner. Our coaches have done a great job in modeling sportsmanship to our young men and women in getting them to understand that others always take notice in all that they do.” WCCC also received the inaugural WPCC Sportsmanship award in 2012-2013.           

Kaufman also presented WCCC director of athletics’  Dick Holler, with the 2013-2014 WPCC Athletic Director of the year for his positive leadership at WCCC and commitment within the conference in supporting  programs, student athletes and conference administrators.  Kaufman noted, “ Dick continues to lead and inspire our conference as he’s well deserving of this recognition .”  Holler stated, “I’m honored to receive this award from the Conference.”
