BUTLER CCC SLIPS PAST WOLFPACK

YOUNGWOOD, Pa. - All five starters scored in double digits, but the Westmoreland County Community College men's basketball team could not overcome a hot shooting squad from Butler County Community College, as the Pioneers pulled out a 111-79 victory Wednesday night in Youngwood.

The Pioneers knocked down 11 three-pointers in the opening half to build a 54-36 halftime advantage and finished the game with 17 triples on the night to secure the victory.

The Wolfpack featured two players with double-doubles and all five starters posted double figures in scoring. Freshman Dipo Olaleye fired in a team-leading 30 points and grabbed 15 rebounds for his second straight double-double. Freshman Michael Yuricha also recorded a second consecutive double-double after totaling 12 markers and 16 boards. Also notching a dozen points for Westmoreland were freshmen Garrett Dhans and Luke Stein and sophomore Xavier Johnson had 11 points, a team-leading five assists  and three blocked shots.

Westmoreland will be on the court again Saturday when it hosts CCAC-Boyce. The start time has been moved up to 11 am in anticipation of the potential winter weather projected for the area.
