Blackman Scores 27 Against PSU Scranton

   The Wolfpack men's basketball team fell to the Penn State Scranton Nittany Lions on November 2nd, with a point differential of less than 10. Tyler Travilion, Colin Masten, Tariq Martin, Nathan Papuga, and Jaisean Blackman were the starting 5 out on the court, the team trusting them to start off the game strong. 

   They certainly delivered, giving the crowd an incredibly exciting game to watch. The Wolfpack was never able to snag the lead from the Nittany Lions throughout the first half, trailing shortly behind them. The half ended with a score of 36-44. 

   At halftime, head coach Scott Morrison knew having energy and playing as a team would be crucial in order to win, "During that break we talked about sharing the ball and being able to run our offense effectively," Morrison said. The wolfpack came out firing, with the gym full of cheering. "Sometimes it's like we have our own crowd with how loud the bench is, and how well they support the guys on the court," he said.

   They would eventually take a small lead from Penn State Scranton, but were not able to hold onto those points near the end. Although it was a hard fought battle, the Wolfpack lost 96-85. While any loss is disappointing, Morrison was adamant about the good things his team did, one of which being Jaisean Blackman scoring a game high 27 points.

   The Wolfpack will play again at Beaver County Community College against CCAC and Penn Highlands on November 8th and 9th as part of their tip-off weekend
