Flowers blossoms in Cross Country Meet

YOUNGWOOD, Pa. - Fresman Aaron Flowers started off his collegiate cross country career with a bang as he went on to win the 2014 WCCC 5K Invitational. Flowers running in his first race jumped out to the lead and never looked back in setting a new course record of 17:11. Garrett Urban of Pitt-Greensburg finished second at 17:21. Potomac State College went on to win the men's title in their program's first season. Rachel Ramsey of Penn State-Greater Allegheny won the women's title with a time of 20:22 while Lauren Schrader of Mt. Aloysius finished second at 21:51.  Pitt-Greensburg edged out Mt. Aloysius for the women's title. Anna Shawley placed 19th for WCCC. Colleges in attendance making up the 45 person field were Pitt-Greensburg, Penn State-Greater Allegheny, Potomac State College, Mt. Aloysius, Community College of Allegheny County and WCCC.
