WOLFPACK RUN IN FINAL RACE BEFORE REGIONAL MEET

LEMONT FURNACE, Pa. - On Saturday, the Westmoreland County Community College Cross Country teams traveled to the Penn State Fayette Roaring Lions Invitational. The men's team competed in the 8k, while the women ran the 6k course.
 
Four members of the men's team competed and they were paced by Dan Miller. The Wolfpack freshman completed the soggy course in 31:08 to place 41st as the top finishing junior college runner. Next for the Wolfpack came sophomore Josh Gelet and freshman Scott Meck. Gelet set a new PR in the 8k by 42 seconds, while Meck bettered his 8k time by four minutes. Freshman Cameron Kromer competed in his first College 8k with a solid time of 43:25.
 
On the women's side, only four runners competed, with sophomore Megan Sensue leading the pack. Her time of 32:29 was good for 32nd place and was the second junior college finisher. Sophomore Rose Lavelle continued her solid running with a time of 40:09. Sophomore Maddy Malone and freshman Kaitlyn Ambrose both set new personal bests at 6k with times of 45:58 and 42:58
 
Next up for the Wolfpack is the WPCC Conference and NJCAA Region XX meet on Westmoreland's home course on October 27th.
