Softball names Terlizzi New Head Coach and Shay as Assistant Coach

Youngwood, PA - Westmoreland County Community College Director of Athletics, Dick Holler, is pleased to announce the hiring of Dan Terlizzi as head coach of women's softball at Westmoreland. "We're excited to have Dan lead our softball program as he's been with the program as an assistant coach for the last 12 years, said Holler. "Dan has a great passion for the game along with a wealth of experience which will allow him to continue to grow the program". Terlizzi stated, "I'm very excited for this opportunity as a head coach and I can't wait to get the season started". Terlizzi takes over a young team that's coming off a Region XX runner-up finish last season. In other softball coaching news, Holler also announced that Cory Shay was hired as the women's assistant softball coach at Westmoreland. "We're excited to add Cory as our assistant softball coach, he brings a wide variety of coaching experiences with stops at Robert Morris and CCAC South. Plus, he's a solid recruiter which will be very beneficial to our program," said Holler. Shay stated, "I'm really happy for this opportunity, I know Westmoreland has been one of the top programs within the Region over the years and it's a great fit for me".
