The women's softabll team led all game long against second seeded Garrett College in the opening round of the 2018 Western Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference softaball championships, only to watch the Lakers squeeze out a 5-4 win in the bottom of the seventh inning ending Westmoreland's chances of winning a conference championship. The loss dropped the Wolfpack to 2-10 on the season and eneded their tournament run. Samantha Reedy paced the Wolfpack as she pounded out two hits and added three RBI's on the afternoon while Marissa Roberts collected two hits in the loss. Westmoreland will look to rebound on Tuesday as they travel to Allegany College of Maryland for a 3:00p.m. start.
