Ladies Win to Close Out semester

Ladies Win to Close Out semester

The women's basketball team hasn't played a game for 13 days due to a cancelled game from snow and college finals.  They traveled to Lorain County Community College for their final game before the holiday break.  WCCC's head coach Scott Hillen didn't know what to expect, however his team  came away with a hard fought 60-48 win over the Commodores.  Hillen stated "We started off sloppy which I guess was to be expected with the long layoff, but our players stepped it up,  their efforts were solid on the night."  Sophomore, Shalia Williams led the squad with 15 points as her neighboring post player Devon Larkin chipped in 13 points.  WCCC also received 10 points from Danielle Murphy but it was the defensive play of Alyssa MacHesky and Brittany Williams that tormented Lorain CCC top scorers all evening in limiting their scoring options.  WCCC (5-6) will be off for the holiday's as they return back to action on January 8th at home against Point Park's  JV team.  Tip off scheduled for 6:00 PM.
