Women's Basketball Wins Season Opener

McKeesport, PA - The old saying,  "next man up",  always has its twist and turns.  Well, that was the case Tuesday evening for the women's basketball team in their opening game of the 2015-16 season. The Wolfpack held a 32-28  lead at the half and then let a late 5 point lead slip away, but they found a way and fought back to earn a hard fought 70-64 win over Penn State Greater Allegheny in non-conference play.  Hannah Porter hit two key field goals late in the game that put WCCC up for good while  Kara Foster was clutch down the stretch at the foul line. Brooke Kalp led all WCCC scorers with 17 pts while Chelsea Szakal added 15 pts.  Porter tossed in 14 pts and Foster assisted with 11 pts as WCCC (1-0) believed in the next man up! The Wolfpack will travel to Penn State DuBois next Tuesday, November 10 for a 6:00 p.m. tip-off with the Lions.
