Ford Wins WPCC Women’s Tournament
With the fall golf championship season upon us, the Westmoreland County community College golf teams took part in the WPCC conference golf championships, held at the links at Spring Church in Apollo PA.
This was a two day event that saw freshman, Jada Ford trailing by one stroke after day one. Only to see her come storming back, and winning the event by nine strokes, as she shot rounds of 109 on day one, and 102 on day two. The Wolfpack have now won back to back WPCC Conference Women's individual championships, between Ford and Kylie Kadas.
On the men's side, the team placed second to Butler County Community College, but this young group has a lot of high expectations for the spring season! Freshman Aiden Duffy had the low rounds for the Wolfpack with an 81 on day one and a 78 on day two. Carson McCully was solid after returning from injury, with rounds of 80 and 83. Brett Worthington shot rounds of 88 and 83. While Cooper Gray shot back to back 89's and Bryan Materkowski was at 92 and 89.
This ends the fall season for golf. They will pick pack up in the spring as they look to compete for their third consecutive trip to the NJCAA National Tournament.
