Westmoreland Hosts 8th Annual Cross Country Invitational

Youngwood, Pa - The Westmoreland College Cross Country team hosted the 8th Annual Wolfpack Invitational on Saturday, September 8. In extremely wet conditions, Westmoreland hosted 12 schools, on their new cross country 5k course. The Lady Wolfpack finished 3rd as a team, finishing behind Frostburg State, and Christendom College. The ladies were lead by a second place overall finish by sophomore Chelsi Bartlow, with an outstanding time of 22:35. She was followed by sophomore Megan Sensue, in 11th place, with a time of 25:58. And rounding out the team were sophomores Rose Lavelle, 22nd place, Maddy Malone in 26th place, and Freshman Kaitlyn Ambrose competing in her first 5k finished in 25th place.

In the men's race, three men competed for the Wolfpack. Freshman Dan Miller was the top finisher for the Wolfpack, in 9th place with a time of 18:09. Sophomore Josh Galet finished in 24th place with a new 5k PR of 19:38, and Freshman Scott Meck ran a solid race, finishing with a time of 22:01. Frostburg State scored a perfect 15pts, placing 7 runners in the top 10, to take the team title. Followed by Penn State Fayette, and Christendom College.

The Wolfpack Cross Country team is now off until September 29th, when they travel to The Chatham College Invitational.
