Baseball Hosts Finger Lakes in Double Header

The Wolfpack baseball team played host for their fist double header of the season against Finger Lakes Community College Saturday afternoon. 

Game one went only 5 innings as the Lakers won 11 to 1.

In game one Dom Koch (CF) went 2 for 2, with the loan run scored.  Ben Anderson (RF) has a two-game hit streak as he drove Koch in.  Braydon Patton (SS) also went 2 for 2 while Jacob Piktel (2b) collected his first hit of the season.  Leo Bravo started game one and went 4 innings giving up 6 runs, all earned, while striking out 7. 

 

Game two saw Finger Lakes Score 3 in the fourth inning, to have the Wolfpack come back in the bottom of the inning to score 4 runs, and take a one run lead.  In the sixth inning both teams scored a run each to see the score move to 5 to 4 Westmoreland.  Then in the top of the seventh inning Finger Lakes went on to score 5 runs and win 9 to 5.

In game two Ronnie Howard (C) collected his second hit of the season going 1 for 3.  Dom Koch had 2 more hits, to give him 4 between the two games.  Ben Anderson collected two hits including his second double of the season.  Peyton Henry went 2 for 2 with a walk, and Andy Person got his first hit of the year going 1 for 3.  Cameron DePalma was on the hill for game 2 and went 6 innings scattering 7 hits while allowing 4 runs, 1 earned run, while also striking out 4.

The Wolfpack are now scheduled for a double header tomorrow against Allegany College of Maryland starting with a noon first pitch!  The double header will be streamed on the Westmoreland Community College Athletics YouTube Channel.
