Wolfpack Host Jamestown

Thursaday afternoon the Westmoreland played host to Jamestown Community College (New York).  The traveled dow for a 3 game set, starting with a double header on Thursday afternoon.  Game 1 saw Jamestown shut out the Wolfpack, 7-0, with solid pitching.

Ronnie Howard, Cameron DePalma, and Jacob Piktel collected the Pack's 3 hits, with one a piece.  DePalma also stole a base in the contest.  Freshman Leo Bravo (1-2) was the starters for game one and was cruising till giving up a solo homerun in the third inning and 2 more in the 5th.  Over his 5 innings of work, Bravo struck out 7, giving him 21 strikeouts in his three starts this season.  Chaz Lankey came in for the final 2 innings surrendering 4 runs on 4 hits.

Game 2 saw the Wolfpack's bats come to like as the scored 6 times in the first 2 innings, on thier way to a 12-7 win.  DePalma stayed hot going 2 for 3 in game two while driving in a pair of runs.  Andy Person went 2 for 3 as well driving in 3 teammates in the process.  Westmoreland also saw an opportunity on the bases as well as Cameron DePalma , Payton Henry (2) , Andy Person (2) combined for 5 stolen bases.  Jared Wagner (1-2) saw his best performance of the season on the mound as well going 5.2 innings while striking out 3.  Dom Koch came in for the final 1.1 innings, for his first appearance on the mound, giving up one hit and no runs.

The Wolfpack will host Jamestown again on Friday in the rubber-match at noon.  The game will be live streamed on the Wolfapck Athletics Facebook page.
