
Westmoreland Splits Season Series with CCAC
On Wednesday afternoon the Westmoreland County Community College baseball played host to CCAC in the final regular season match up between the two teams. Wolfpack won the first encounter at Westmoreland, while CCAC swept the double header hosted at CCAC. Westmoreland jumped out to a 2-0 lead after the first inning, but then found themselves trailing 6-4 going into the bottom of the eighth inning. In the bottom of the eighth, Westmoreland exploded for 6 runs, before slamming the door shut in the ninth.
Wednesday afternoon saw Leo Bravo take to the mound. Leo had pitched in two of the previous three games against CCAC. Bravo was consistent in his 5 innings of work. He allowed 3 earned runs on 4 hits, while striking out 2 batters. Chaz Lankey took the Wolfpack the last 4 innings. Lankey limited the CCAC bats to just 1 earned run on 4 hits, but did walk 5 batters.
Brayden Patton and Aidan McLaughlin led the offense in with 3 RBI's a piece, McLaughlin coming off the bench to record a two RBI single, and a bases loaded walk. Patton had his RBI's over two hits. Westmoreland was also busy on the base pathes as well with the team recording 7 stolen bases, Ben Anderson (1), Cameron DePalma (2), Jacob Piktel (2), Aidan McLaughlin (2).
With Thursdays game vs Allegany College of Maryland rained out, the Wolfpack will not be back on the field till Sunday, for a double header at Allegany of Maryland with a noon first pitch.
