The Wolfpack Earn a Win at Garrett

The Wolfpack Earn a Win at Garrett

Saturday afternoon, Westmoreland County Community College, and Garrett College dodged the rain all day in order to complete their scheduled Region 20 doubleheader.

Game one saw Garrett jump out to a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the first, and not look back in route to a 9-0 win.

Westmoreland offensively was hitting the ball, hard, but at times it was right at Garrett Players. Matthew Perez continued to be hot collecting three more hits, including a double.  While Anthony Massari, collected two singles in the game, Jack McBride and Brady Stivenson, each collected a hit as well. Perez also stole two bases in the game.

Travis Keister went to first four innings, allowing six runs and taking the loss, while Brody Byrd came in and went the final two innings, giving up just two earned runs.

Game saw a few stoppages due to weather, but that didn't stop the Wolfpack from winning game two 9 to 5. Offensively the Wolfpack collected 12 hits three by Stivenson two from Logan Short, Anthony Mazzarri, and Braden Patton. Short had two doubles Missouri had a double, and so did Patton. Matt Perez collected another hit, as well as Dyson Murner, and McBride.

Ethan Wilson went the first three innings of the game, allowing four runs on four hits while striking out 4. Ty Husband went the fourth thinning clean before handing the ball over to Matthew Perez, who won the final three innings, allowing one run on one hit and striking out 1.

With an overall record of 5-15, Westmoreland prepares to host Lakeland College on Tuesday at 1 PM in a non-region 20 matchup, before hosting CCBC Dundalk Saturday at home at noon.
