Westmoreland Splits DH with Montgomery in Home Opener

Westmoreland split their double header with Montgomery College in their season home opener. It was a beautiful 68 degree day for the wolfpack's first home game of the 2025 season. Montgomery won the first game by a score of 17-1 and Westmoreland took the second game with a score of 11-5.

In the first game, Montgomery opened up the first inning by scoring one run. The wolfpack's defense would hold tough after that and get out of the inning. The second inning was similar with Montgomery scoring once. Neither team would score in the third inning. Montgomery would go on to score eight runs in the fourth and fifth inning and the wolfpack would end up getting one run. The game ended in the seventh inning with a final score of 17-1. First baseman, Bobby Etze led Westmoreland with two hits in game one.

Westmoreland would bounce back in the second game after Montgomery scored in the first inning. The wolfpack tied the game in the third scoring one run. They would open it up in the fourth and fifth innings when Westmoreland would score a combined ten runs. The game finished after the top of the seventh inning with the wolfpack winning by a score of 11-5. Bobby Etze went 2 for 2 from the batters box and Brady Stivenson and Riley Smith both had two RBIs.
