Westmoreland Travels to CCAC for a Region 20 Doubleheader

The Westmoreland Wolfpack traveled to CCAC for a region 20 doubler header. Playoff implications were on the line for both teams in this important matchup. As Westmoreland and CCAC are jocking for a potential berth for post season play.

In game one, the wolfpack jumped out to an early 2-0 lead after the first inning. The wildcats would then tie the game a 2-2 after the second inning. Westmoreland would then score a run in the third and fourth inning to take a 4-2 lead after four. Both teams scored a run in the fifth inning. CCAC would then score four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to take the lead and go on to win game one by a score of 7-5. Jake Gedekoh had 2 hits and 2 RBIs for the wolfpack in this game.

In game two, both teams were held scoreless after the first two innings. Then Westmoreland got on the board in the third inning by scoring 1 run. The wolfpack would score another run in the fifth inning to take a 2-0 lead after playing five innings. The scoring would pick up in the last two innings as the wolfpack scored 1 in the sixth and 2 in the seventh and the wildcats scored 2 in the sixth and 1 in the seventh. Westmoreland was able to close the game out in the bottom of the seventh while CCAC had the bases loaded, the wolfpack won game two by a score of 5-3. The starting pitcher for Westmoreland, Jacob Smith, would record the win to move his pitching record to 5-3.
