Wolfpack Win 4th in a Row

Monday night the Wolfpack men's basketball team took another step towards their goal of being the number 1 seed in the WPCC tournament this weekend, with a 86 to 79 victory at Butler County Community College.

Jakir Hampton and Brandon Baird led the pack with both players recording double-doubles.  Jakir scored 31 points while hauling in 10 rebounds, and Baird added 14 points and 11 boards.  Noah Raynor-Savage contributed 16 points, while Tahyir Vines was the fourth player scoring in double digits with 12 points.  Joel Lonigro and Jason Pierre added 8 points and 5 points to round our the scoring for the Wolfpack.

With this win, the Wolfpack need to defeat Butler again on Wednesday night in order to secure the the number one seed in the WPCC Tournament.  If they win, Westmoreland would have home court throughout the tournament, which starts Friday night.  If they are the two seed they would play at home Friday night, then Saturday they could be on the road, or at home, depending on the outcome of the other Friday night game.

Wednesday night is a basketball doubleheader at Westmoreland as both the men's and women's teams take on Butler.  The ladies play at 5pm, and the men tipoff at 7pm.
