Men's Basketball Finish Their Season at the Region 20 Tournament

The men's basketball team traveled to Anne Arundel Community College looking to win their first ever NJCAA Region 20 Championship.  They were the number 3 seed in the tournament, and drew the number 2 seeded Riverhawks of Anne Arundel in the tournament semifinals.  In their meeting earlier in the year the Riverhawks defeated Westmoreland 89-75.  In the rematch, Anne Arundel dominated play, as Westmoreland shot only 34.4% from the field and only 1-12 from three point land in the 98-55 loss.

Joel Lonigro was named to the NJCAA All Region Team with his 24 point performance.  Tahiyr Vines added 16 points, and also led the team with 8 rebounds.  The teams leading scorer Jakir Hampton was held in check with only 6 points.  While Noah Raynor-Savage and Brandon Baird added in 3 and 2 points each.  Shawn Wilson finished off the scoring with 4 points off of the bench.

With the season now coming to an end, the Wolfpack will now start to look a the 2022-23 season, and we would like to thank the players for an amazing season.  With 8 of the 10 players being sophomores there will be a new look to the Wolfpack next fall, so we wish the sophomores good luck as they transfer on from Westmoreland, or graduate and move in to their careers!  Also, thank you to Coach Johnson and the rest of the coaching staff, who put so much time and effort into the season!
