Tuesday night the Westmoreland County Community College men's basketball team played host to Penn State New Kensington. Westmoreland trailed by three points going into the half, before being outscored 50-39 in the second half. PSU New Kensington went on to win the game 95-81.
Freshman Lorenzo Gardener led the way for the Wolfpack scoring 26 points. Gardener is leading the Wolfpack averaging 17.7 points per game through the first 5 games of the season. Sophomore Tyler Travillion added 20 points, and Freshman Colin Masten added in 15 points. Sophomore Marvel McGowan dished out 13 assists in the game, while freshman Alex Lowry cleaned up on the boards with 9 rebounds, 5 offensive and 4 defensive.
With the loss Westmoreland moves to 1-4 on the season. The will look to get back in the win column Thursday night at home against the Geneva JV team at 6:30pm.
