Westmoreland Take Down Geneva JV

Last night may have been cold and snowy, but the action in the Westmoreland County Community College gym was hot.  Westmoreland played host to the Geneva College JV team.  Westmoreland took a 41-39 lead into the half.  A big three point play by Lorenzo Gardener, two clutch free throws by Marvel McGowan, and a last second defensive stand sealed the win for Westmoreland 90-87.

Colin Masten, Franklin Regional, was the top scorer for the Wolfpack with 20 points.  Gardner added 19, while McGowan added in 15 points each.  Jaisean Blackman pulled down 6 offensive and 3 defensive rebounds to top all rebounders.  McGowan also added in 5 steals for the Pack. 

90 points was Westmoreland's highest point total on the season, so it seems as though the team is coming together as they prepare for their first Region 20 game in two weeks.  Westmoreland will have one more game this Tuesday at Penn Highlands at 7pm, before their first Region 20 game on Dec 4^TH against Garrett College at home.
