Wolfpack Impressive at Regional Championships
Friday morning the Westmoreland County Community College Bowling Teams continued their march towards an appearance at the NJCAA National Championships. This was the final stop in Johnstown for the NJCAA Region 20 Championships.
The men's team started out with Ethan Sisk and Sean Gordon taking part in the doubles competition Ethan had a team high 204 game, and series with a 525 for the doubles event. Sisk and Gordon placed 4th overall in the event with a combined 923. Next up as the men's singles event. This saw Gordon place 5th overall with a 200 high game on route to a 561 series. Sisk was next for the Wolfpack with a 182 high game as part of his 519 series. Camden Wright placed 10th overall with a 377 series, and a 156 high game in the singles event. When it came to all events, Sisk placed 7th, Gordon, finished 8th, and wright took 9th place overall.
The women's event kicked off with the doubles event, which saw Lane Fischer and Taylor Sathornkich take first overall with a 855 combined score (403 and 482). Grace Fischer and Faith Shean placed second for the Wolfpack with an 826 series (418 and 408). Next up came the women's singles event, where Westmoreland took the top 4 spots in the event. Sathornkich placed first with a high game of 168, knowing over 476 total pins, and she was followed by Lane Fischer's 458 series. In third place and fourth place were Hannah Crosby and Grace Fischer with series of 420 and 406. Rounding out the women's team was Faith Shean who placed 7 th overall with a 342 series. When it came to overall events, Sathornkich placed first (1365), Crosby second (1275), Grace Fischer third (1265), Lane Fischer fourth (1263), and Faith Shean sixth (1125).
With their performance at the regional tournament, the Wolfpack will now travel to Michigan, to take part in the NJCAA National Championships on 2-29-24 to 3-2-24!
