Bowling Looks to Win Regional Title

On Valentines Day the Westmoreland County Community College Wolfpack bowling teams looked to earn their way to the NJCAA National Championships through the NJCAA Region 20 Championships.

Westmoreland kick things off with the men's doubles event. In the doubles event, it saw a flip in how the Wolfpack finished. At the WPCC championships Larry Weaver and Jake Smith placed fourth, but at the NJCAA regional, they placed second with a total of 1193 total pins. Andrew Marcej and Luke Sunny, who placed second at the WPCC tournament, placed fourth with 1167 total pins for the event. In singles Marcej and Smith, placed fourth and fifth overall. Marcej with a 644 series and Smith with a 579. In the final team standing Westmoreland placed second to Penn Highlands 9085 to 9237 total pins.

 
In the women's doubles event Addy O'Rear and Faith Shean Play second to the team from CCAC 779 to 812. When they got into the women's singles event Shean once again placed third overall with a 441 series. O'Rear was fifth overall with a 372 series. Shean and O'Rear Play third and fifth in the women's overall standings.
 
With this event, the women season comes to an end, and the men's team will continue onto the NJCAA national championship tournament February 27, 28th and March 1 in Buffalo, New York.
