Cross Country Team Sets PR’s at Bethany

On Saturday in Westmoreland County Community College's cross country teams, travelled down to Bethany, West Virginia for the bison invitational. Westmoreland only ran two women and one male in the event. All three runners in these events set new personal best at either the 8k or 6K distance.

For the women's team, Larissa Vozar and Chloe Willochell took on the NCAA division II heavy field and both performed phenomenally. Vozar was the first to cross the finish line with a new personal best of 28:22. This was 1 minute 52 seconds faster than her personal best set last year. Larissa's time also placed her into the top 10 women's 6K times in the school history, ninth place. Willochell completed the course in 36:52, which was three minutes and one second faster than her 6K time last year.

Robbie Halinka was the only men's team member to take part in the event. Halinka completed the men's 8K course in 31:54. This was a new personal best for him by 1:14.

" I was very proud of the effort that our athletes put in today," set head coach, Patrick Comer. "Our team has worked so hard to get to the point where we're seeing times drop significantly from last year!"

The Wolfpack now I'll get a Saturday off to help everyone recover as they prepare to go to the Penn State fayette roaring lion Invitational on Saturday, September 23.
