Cross Country Places 4th at UPG Invite
Saturday morning saw the men's and women's cross-country team take part in the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg cross country invitational, held at the Westmoreland County Fairgrounds. This course which featured over 800 feet of elevation change was very challenging for all who took part in the event.
In the women's 6K event freshman Kylie Klinger led the way for the Wolfpack with a 13th place finish overall, and a time of 31:15. Freshman Lexie Kepple with her best race of the year finished second for the Wolfpack in 22nd place, followed right behind by sophomore, Savanna Orner in 23rd place, their clock times were 33:40 and 33:56. Eva Lichty and Avery Bailey rounded out Westmoreland's top five in 32nd and 41st places overall, and had times of 39:09 and 47:05. With a score of 78 points the women's team placed fourth overall.
On the men's side freshman, Adam Halinka and Tyler Stone continue to improve every week, as they both competed in their very first 8K of the season. Halinka was the first one to the finish line in 37:06, placing 18th. Stone, ran one of his best races of the year as well on the challenging course, placed 24th, with the time of 41:58.
The Wolfpack now have some time off before traveling to La Roche College on Friday October 18th, with the meet starting at 4 PM on their campus.
