Westmoreland Battles Into Overtime with Prince George

The Westmoreland women's basketball team battled into overtime with Prince George in a thriller on Sunday afternoon. In a game most people people thought Prince George would run away with, the lady wolfpack had something else in mind. Westmoreland jumped out early and led by a score of 14 to 4 by the end of the first quarter. In the second quarter, the game became closer and Westmoreland was down by 1 point at the break. The teams tied each other in the third quarter as both teams scored 13 points. Westmoreland outscored Prince George by 1 point in the 4th quarter to tied the game at the end of regulation and force overtime. The final score ended up Prince George 64 and Westmoreland 55. Three players had double doubles for the lady wolfpack as Mercedes Majors had 23 points with 16 rebounds, Angel Kelly had 15 points with 10 rebounds, and Chloe Willochell had 11 points and 11 rebounds. Up next for Westmoreland will be a home game against Penn State New Kensington on Tuesday at 8pm.
