Bowling Kicks of 2024 Postseason
The post season got underway for the Westmoreland County Community College men's and women's teams, with the WPCC Conference Tournament Friday Morning at Coral Lanes.
Four members of the women's team took part in the conference championship which consisted of singles, doubles, and all events. The two women's teams of Grace Fischer and Taylor Sathornkich, and Faith Shean and Lane Fischer placed first and third in the doubles competition. Fischer and Sathornkich combined for a total of 897 in the event. While the team of Fischer and Shean totaled 797 in the event.
When it came to the singles event, Westmoreland look 4 of the top 6 spots. Grace took first place with a 502 series. Taylor placed second with 491 in singles. In third place was faith Shean with her best series of the season at 436. Lane Fischer rounded out the Ladies with a 385.
When it came to the total events Grace Fischer was tops with 1446 pins. That was a 160 average for the event. Sathornkich was in second place with a 1333 total in all events. Shean and Lane Fischer placed fourth and fifth places with 1200 and 1154 total pins.
On the men's side Ethan Sisk and Sean Gordon took part in the doubles event, placing third overall with an 874 series in the event.
When it came to the singles event, freshman Sean Gordon placed 5th overall with a 519 series. His high game being a 195 in game three. Sophomore Ethan Sisk was next in seventh place, on his way to a 498. Freshman Camden Wright had a series high 150 game as part of his ninth place finish. In all events, Gordon placed 7th, Sisk finished in 8th, and Wright placed 9th.
This coming Friday, the men's and women's teams will travel to 814 lanes in Johnstown to take part in the NJCAA Region 20 Championships. The regional tournament will start at 10am.
