Wolfpack host Regional Tri-Match

On Friday evening Westmoreland County Community College played host to a regional tri-met between Anne Arundel Riverhawks and the Howard Dragons. These were three very evenly matched region 20 volleyball teams, as each set's final score was very close.

Game one saw Anne Arundel defeat Westmoreland three sets to two. The scores in all five sets were very close at 25-21, 26-24, 25-19, 25-20, and 15-6. Westmoreland winning sets two and three, and Anne Arundel winning sets one, four and five.

Leading the pack in game one was sophomores Bryn Shearer, with 11 kills, and Sarah Fulton, with 14 digs.  Shearer and Fulton both combined to lead the Wolfpack in aces as well, combining for 5.  Freshman Skyler Durst handed out 14 assists, while freshman Faith Shean added in 2 blocks.

Game two saw Howard defeat in Arundel 3 to 1 in a very entertaining matchup.

The final matchup of the night saw the Dragons take on the Wolfpack. This matchup saw Howard win sets one and two by scores of 25-16 and 25-22.  Westmoreland took set three 25-21.  Before Howard won the match, winning set four 25-20, to get the 3-1 win. Grace Fisher and Emily Schuck combined for 15 kills.  Bryn Shearer and Sarah Fulton both had 4 digs a piece.  Kylie Price (4), Grace Fischer (3), Durst and Shearer (2) all recorded aces in the match.  Durst also had 17 assists.  Finally, Fischer and Sydney Matijevic both combined for 5 blocks.

The Wolfpack will return to the court on a two-day trip to eastern Maryland to play Chesapeake College Thursday evening at 7 PM, and then Friday night at Carroll Community College at 6 PM.
