BERTOVICH TAKES 1ST, WOLFPACK WOMEN WIN HOME INVITATIONAL

YOUNGWOOD, Pa. - The Westmoreland County Community College women's cross country team dominated the field Saturday at the Wolfpack Invitational, as Brooke Bertovich took first place overall and the Wolfpack won the team title as well.

Running in her first collegiate meet, Bertovich won the race with a time of 24:03.7, nearly 10 seconds aheads of the second place runner. She also led a pack of five Westmoreland runners in the top 12. Taking third place overall was freshman Natalie Naponic (24:17.7), while freshman Jenn Baldwin earned sixth place (25:04.4). Rounding out the top scorers for the Wolfpack were freshman Jenna Hildenbrand in ninth place and freshman Abby Dorogi in 12th.

While those runners were the top to score, the rest of the Wolfpack were close as well. Placing 14th and 15th, respectively, were freshman Madison McTavish and freshman Olivia Jumper and freshman Dakota Cochran placed 19th overall.

The Wolfpack return to the trails next Saturday when they travel to Latrobe, Pa., to compete in the Saint Vincent Invitational.
