STRONG TEAM EFFORT BOOSTS WOLFPACK TO WPCC TITLE

YOUNGWOOD, Pa. - Led by four of the top five finishers in the race, the Westmoreland County Community College women's cross country team captured its fifth consecutive WPCC team championship Thursday at the conference meet held on the Wolfpack's home course.

Pacing the Wolfpack runners was freshman Brooke Bertovich, who took second place with a time of 23:44.2. Coming in third place at 23:58.3 was freshman Jenna Hildenbrand, while Jenn Baldwin and Olivia Jumper crossed in fourth and fifth place respectively.

The fifth and final Wolfpack runner to score was Abby Dorogi, who took sixth place. Completing the championship Wolfpack team on Thursday was Madison McTavish, Natalie Naponic and Chelsey Gasparovich.

Taking first place as an individual was Erika Kovalik from Penn Highlands with a time of 22:57.1.

With the conference title secured, the Wolfpack set their sights on the Region XX Championship meet, which will be held Saturday, Oct. 26th at Hagerstown Community College.
