Cross Country Opens the Season at Wolfpack Invitational

Friday afternoon the Westmoreland County Community College cross country team hosted the 13^TH Annual Wolfpack Invitational to kick off the 2023 season. The meet featured 9 different teams from all different collegiate levels (Westmoreland, Potomac State, CCAC, Penn Highlands, Pitt Greensburg, La Roche, Mt Aloysius, Penn State Fayette, and Penn State Dubois).

The Women's race kicked off the event with the women's team placing 2^nd as a team. The were led by Sophomore Larissa Vozar and her 6^th place finish. She was followed quickly behind by Makayla Lander and Savanna Orner in 14^th and 15^th place. Next to cross the line for the Wolfpack were Ryleigh Kelley and Brynne Davis in 18^th and 19^th place to round out the top five. Chloe Willochell and Katelyn O'Donnell (in here first ever cross country race), both had outstanding races finishing 24^th and 25^th overall.

The men's team only had three participants in the event. Robbie Halinka ran one of his best college races to date and placed 7^th overall. Andersen Petrazzi was the next member to hit the finish line placing 11^th overall. Rounding out the field for the Wolfpack was Jon Kiggins picked up where he left off at the end of last season placing 27^th overall.

Next up for the Wolfpack Will be a trip to Bethany College on September 9^th for the Bison Invitational.
