Halinka places 8th, and Women's team places 2nd at Roaring Lion Invite

On a rainy chilly afternoon, the Westmoreland County Community College cross country teams were on the road to the Penn State Fayette Roaring Lions Invitational.

Even in the conditions, the course held up well.  Sophomore Robbie Halinka ran an outstanding 8k in the elements.  His time of 32:14was good enough to place him 8th overall in the men's college competition.  Anderson Petrazzi was the only other men's team participant, and he placed 28th with a time of 38:53.

For the women's 6k race the number 25 ranked Wolfpack were once again led By Larissa Vozar with her 15th place Finnish (29:08).  Freshamn Savanna Orner ran her best race of the season placing 19th with a time of 29:50. Ryleigh Kelley continues her strong season finishing in 31:21.  Makayla lander was fourth for the Wolfpack in 23:48.  Rounding out the scoring was Brynne Davis with a solid time of 33:47.  Katelyn O'Donnell completed her first ever 6k with an outstanding time of 39:30 for the race.  The lady's teams scored 46 points which placed them second to Potomac State.

Next up for Westmoreland will be a trip up to Mt Aloysius on September 30th.
