Pitching Sweeps Pioneers

WCCC received an outstanding pitching effort by Matt Hogue which spurred the Wolfpack  to a 2-1 win over Butler County Community College on Wednesday at WCCC. Hogue worked out of five difficult moments allowing no earned runs on one hit.  Butler scored one run in the sixth on a sacrifice fly by Schaffner, but BCCC wasn't able to take the lead back.

Miller couldn't get it done on the hill for Pioneers, taking a loss. He lasted just six innings, walked six, struck out four, and allowed two runs. WCCC  never surrendered the lead after the third inning, scoring one run on a sacrifice fly by Giuseppe Schiano.

In game two, WCCC went on to beat Butler County Community College  6-0. Bobby Thompson put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits as he tripled in the first inning and doubled in the third inning. Freshman pitcher,  Tyler Henry kept BCCC off the scoreboard for all seven allowing no opposing players to cross the plate on four hits while ringing up five. Offensively the Pack was sparked by Giuseppe Schiano and Thompson, who teamed up for four hits and three RBIs.

With the sweep over the Pioneers the Wolfpack has now improved their record to 6-15 and rests on a three game win streak.
