Westmoreland County Community College played host to Allegany college of Maryland in a home doubleheader on Wednesday afternoon. Game one saw the Wolfpack win 10-6 in 7 innings. Westmoreland scored on a groundout by Dom Koch in the first inning, a double by Jake Piktel in the first inning, a single by Jack McBride in the first inning, a single by Alex Borges in the second inning, a walk by Ronnie Howard in the second inning, and a sacrifice fly by Piktel in the second inning.
Both pitching staffs had their hands full, frequently dealing with runners on base. Westmoreland collected six hits and Allegany college of Maryland had nine.
Connor Lee earned the victory on the pitcher's mound for the Wolfpack. The righthander allowed nine hits and six runs over seven innings, striking out six.
Kam Pritts led Westmoreland with two hits in three at bats. Gavin Cancio, Alex Borges, Jake Piktel, and Jack McBride also collected hits in the win.
Game two watched Westmoreland let the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 27-5 loss to Allegany college of Maryland.
The Westmoreland struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Allegany, who scored 12 runs in the third inning.
Tyler Husband was on the pitcher's mound for Westmoreland. Husband surrendered 11 runs on five hits over two innings, striking out two. Jack McBride, Jake Albaugh, and Cody Adomnik each contributed in relief for the Wolfpack.
Logan Short led Westmoreland with two hits in two at bats. Dom Koch, Travis Keister, Cancio, and McBride also collected hits in the game.
The Wolfpack will next travel to Prince George's Community College on Saturday, before returning home to host Butler on Sunday afternoon to end the regular season.
