WPCC basketball play-offs open today

The men's and women' basketball teams begin their post season play tonight in the Western Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference Basketball Championships.  The women are coming off a 69-59 setback to Potomac State on Tuesday night as the Wolfpack earned the top seed and will host CCAC South at 5:30 PM.  Should WCCC win, they will host the winner of CCAC Allegheny and Butler CCC on Sunday at 3:00 PM.  Danielle Murphy and Devon Larkin lead the team in scoring at 14 ppg and will be counted on heavily to help WCCC (15-9) repeat as the WPCC champions.  WCCC defeated CCAC Boyce a year ago to win the WPCC post season championship.  Murphy, Larkin and teammates have their sites on yet another WPCC title.

Our men's basketball team is headed to Penn Highlands CC for a 6:00 PM show down. Tonight's winner will play the winner of top seeded CCAC Allegheny and the CCAC Boyce/Butler winner on Sunday at 2:00 PM at the highest seed. They're coming off a disappointing 104-62 loss to Potomac State on Tuesday evening as they look to rebound and get back on track. All eyes will be on the Wolfpack's leading scorers Zachary Smith 18 ppg and Jordan Ruggiero 13 ppg to get the Wolfpack (4-23) off to a strong start.  PHCC and WCCC have squared off twice this season, with the Black Bears coming out on top in both contests.  This matchup has become a close rivalry over the years and should be a good one to watch.
