WOLFPACK HANG ON TO BEAT CCAC-BOYCE 56-55

YOUNGWOOD, Pa. - Led by Dipo Olaleye's game-high 24 points, the Westmoreland County Community College men's basketball team held off CCAC-Boyce for a 56-55 victory Saturday afternoon.

Olaleye dropped in 13 and Garrett Dhans scored seven in the first half to help the Wolfpack take a 32-30 halftime lead. Westmoreland built a 40-32 lead early in the second half, but Boyce chipped away and the teams swapped the lead several times down the stretch.

Boyce led by a 49-47 count with five minutes left before Olaleye scored seven straight Wolfpack points, including the go-ahead bucket with 4:26 left and another hoop to make it a three-point spread. Michael Yuricha scored with 1:50 left to extend the lead back to 56-53. Boyce managed a bucket to get within one and had possession with two seconds on the clock, but their final attempt was short and the Wolfpack escaped with the victory.

Olaleye finished the afternoon with 24 markers and added nine rebounds, five assists and five steals in the victory. Also reaching double figures was Luke Stein with 15 points, as he buried five three-pointers. Forward Xavier Johnson totaled six points and 10 rebounds and Yuricha led the efforts on the glass with 16 boards.

The Wolfpack will be back on the hardwood Monday afternoon in a 3 pm tip-off at Potomac State.
