The Scott Morrison era of men's basketball tipped off this past weekend with back to back games verses Garrett College and Potomac State, hosted by Beaver County Community College.

Saturday afternoon the Wolfpack took on Garrett College to officially get the season going.  It was a tough go of it for the very young Wolfpack team.  Jordan Askew, the lone sophomore on the team, was the leading scorer for the Wolfpack dropping in 22 points.  Freshman Tyler Travillion added 18 points.  Westmoreland worked hard on the glass pulling down 28 rebounds, 5 offensive and 23 defensive.  Travillion was tops with 6 boards, he also added in 4 assists to lead the Pack.  Turnovers were the name of the game, as Westmoreland committed 35 total turnovers, in the 121-65 loss to Garrett.

Sunday saw Westmoreland take on the Catamounts of Potomac State. Askew, a transfer from Finlandia University, once again was the top point scorer for the Wolfpack dropping 15 points.  Elijah Myers added 11 points, going 4-6 on his field goals, including going 3-4 from three-point range. Freshman Marquell Reaves and Brandon Fetter added in 9 and 8 points each.  Reaves also added in 10 rebounds and 2 steals in the Wolfpacks 103 to 51 loss.

"These were two good games for our players to see the style of play at the college DII level," said head coach Scott Morrison.  "As we go, we will learn from our mistakes, and continue to grow and improve as a team," added Morrison.

Next up for the will be their first home game of the season, as they play host to Pennsylvania Highlands Community College Thursday at 6PM.  Make sure to stop out and support the team!
