Men's Golf Finishes 3rd in the Region

This past Sunday and Monday the Westmoreland County Community College Golf Team took part in the NJCAA Region 20 championships, with a trip to the NJCAA National Championship Tournament as the top prize.  The Wolfpack traveled up to The Links at Spring Church in Apollo, PA for the two day tournament.

Day one saw a short rain delay for the team to overcome, but the team still saw some good scores even with the stoppage.  Freshman Chase Richardson was the low man for the Wolfpack shooting a very solid 82 on the day.  Carson Kirshner was next with a 89, third was Luke Zylka with a 96, rounding out day one was Logan Goblesky's 99 and Micah Conroy's 105.

Day two saw a dry course and the scores reflected the conditions as ever golfer shot the same score or lower on day two.  Richardson dropped four strokes on his way to a 78 for round two.  Kirshner had an 87, Zylka with another 96, Goblesky with a 92, and Conroy with a 99.

With his scores of 82 and 78 Chase Richardson was able to place fourth overall gaining him All Region 20 Honors for the season.  The men's team ended the tournament in third place behind the winner Butler Community College.  This event wraps up the 2021-2022 sports season here at Westmoreland, and now we turn our attention to the fall of 2022 to start preparing all our athletes for competition in the 2022-23 school year, our final year of NJCAA Division III!
