MILLER TAKES WPCC INDIVIDUAL TITLE FOR WOLFPACK

YOUNGWOOD, Pa. - Westmoreland County Community College sophomore Dan Miller posted a strong back half of the 8k course to claim the individual championship at the 2019 WPCC Cross Country Championships, hosted by Westmoreland Thursday afternoon.

Miller's championship was the top highlight of the day for the Wolfpack men, who placed second as a team with 33 points. Garrett College had three of the top five runners to earn the team championship with 22 points.

Miller was a close second behind Garrett's Christian Jordan through the first half of the race, but took the lead shortly after the midway point and continued to pull away, as he crossed the finish line in 29:40.6, 49 seconds ahead of the field.

Just missing out on a top five finish was sophomore Scott Meck, who took sixth place overall in 32:43.3. Rounding out the Wolfpack runners in the meet were Nathan Miller, Michael Hays and Travis McCoy.

The Wolfpack will be back on the course next Saturday, Oct. 26th when they run at the Region XX Championship meet, which will be hosted by Hagerstown Community College.
