MILLER TAKES 5TH FOR WOLFPACK AT REGION XX CHAMPIONSHIPS

HAGERSTOWN, Md. - Sophomore Dan Miller earned his second straight All-Region award, as he placed fifth overall at the Region XX Championships Saturday, hosted by Hagerstown Community College.

Miller came across the finish line with a time of 29:23.7 to set a new PR by 17 seconds and take fifth place overall. Miller was the Region Champion last fall, but his time Saturday was two and a half minutes faster than last year. He was the first runner on Saturday to break the tape who wasn't from Howard Community College, who won the Region team title by placing the top four and five of the first six runners.

Although the Wolfpack weren't able to score as a team at the meet because they only had four runners, it was still a strong showing for the program. In addition to Miller earning All-Region. the other three runners all set personal bests. Sophomore Scott Meck placed 12th overall with a time of 32:23.8, which took 20 seconds off his personal best, while freshman Nathan Miller (34:48.9) crossed in 17th and set a new PR by 33 seconds and freshman Michael Hays (39:29.7) took 20th place.

The Wolfpack will run one more time this year, as they compete at the NJCAA National Championships next Saturday at Holyoke Community College in Mass.
