MILLER CAPS WOLFPACK CAREER WITH PROGRAM BEST AT NJCAA'S

WESTFIELD, Mass. - Westmoreland County Community College sophomore Dan Miller completed his outstanding Wolfpack running career Saturday with the top finish ever recorded by a Westmoreland men's runner at the NJCAA Cross Country Championships, hosted at Holyoke Community College.

After winning the WPCC title and earning All-Region XX honors at last week's Region championship race, Miller saved his best for last. He crossed the finish line with a time of 28:41, which was a PR and fastest of the season by 42 seconds. He also finished 36th out of 200 runners, making his place and time the best ever posted by a Wolfpack runner at the NJCAA meet.

It was a day of PRs for the entire Westmoreland team, as all four runners who competed set new low times. Sophomore Scott Meck clipped 25 seconds off his PR in his final Wolfpack race, as he finished with a time of 31:58. Freshman Nathan Miller continued his strong end-of-the-season push, as his time of 33:52 erased 56 seconds off his previous best time. And the biggest jump of the meet was turned in by freshman Michael Hays, whose time of 37:28 was nearly 90 seconds faster than his previous PR.

With only four runners, the Wolfpack only scored as individuals at the meet. The team national champion was Mineral Ridge College with a score of 54 to best fellow Region XX competitor Howard CC, who finished the meet with 79 points.
