Wolfpack Begin Season by Hosting Invitational

YOUNGWOOD, Pa. - The Westmoreland County Community College men's cross country team started its 2020 season Friday evening by hosting eight other schools for the 10th Annual Wolfpack Invitational.

The Wolfpack had only one official runner compete in the meet. Freshman Ethen Hammer competed in his first collegiate race and finished 19th overall by crossing in a time of 24:15.6.

Hagerstown was the top NJCAA team by placing the top five runners, including overall race winner Henry Schmidt, while Harford finished second. Also competing were a pair of four-year NAIA schools, as Point Park finished in front of Carlow.

Westmoreland will return to action next Saturday when it runs at Garrett Invitational.
