Men's XC Cap Off Outstanding Season

Saturday the men's cross country team, traveled to Milledgeville Georgia for the NJCAA Division III National Championships.  The men's team last competed at the National Championships in 2019.  

 

Right from the start Region 20 Champion Dante Frescura moved right to the front of the pack, and that is where he stayed.  Dante set a new school 8k record finishing in 9th place overall in a time of 27:12.  This was 30 seconds faster then the previous record set by Jordan Stack back in 2017.  Frescura Also became the first ever men's team NJCAA All American in the process.

 

Micah Conroy was the next member of the Wolfpack to cross the finish line, finishing 51st overall.  Micah's time of 29:26, which was a 3 minute 10 second improvement from his personal best time, just two weeks before, at the NJCAA Region 20 Championships.  Peyton Hause was next at 87th, at 30:59, 58 seconds better then his personal record.  Then rounding out the scoring was Ben Davis, and Jared Bowman, finishing 96th and 106th to cap off the scoring.  Davis set a new personal best by 1 min 47 seconds and Bowman by 50 seconds.

Running in his final collegiate race, Nathan Miller was the final finisher for the Wolfpack.  Nathan was the lone sophomore on the team, and finished his career with a 135th place finish with a season best time of 37:57.

The mens team scored 304 points which was good enough to finish 13th, which is the teams highest finish at the National Championships ever.  "This team has shown so much growth over that course of this season," said Coach Comer.  "I hope to keep this core together going into next season, and see how they mature even in their sophomore years."
