Softball Ready for Home Opener

A new era of WCCC softball will begin this weekend under first year head coach Rachel Jesso, as the Wolfpack will host NJCAA Region III power Corning CCC.  Jesso and her Wolfpack squad will  count on two All-Region selections from a year ago in pitcher/infielder Melanie Welc and infielder Whitney Thompson. Both are expected  to help burden  the load with so many new faces as they learn to adjust to the college game early on the season. Jesso stated,  "I think we're ready and there's only so much you can do in the gym. They're excited to get started and so am I.  We just need to get on the field and start playing and just go from there."  WCCC has their sights on improving from last season  14-16 record and making yet another strong run into the Region XX softball regional's in early May.
