Softball splits home opener

The 2014  softball season finally got under way as they went on to win their home opener 9-2 over Butler CCC. Emily Baker led all Wolfpack hitters at the plate with three hits while driving in a pair of runs.   Becca Schnur added two doubles while Melanie Welc picked up the circle win while striking out 10 batters.  In the nightcap, Welc pounded out a 2-run home run and Whitney Thompson added three hits but it wasn't enough as the Pioneers defeated the Wolfpack 12-9. With the split WCCC sets at 1-1 on the young season.
