Opening setback wakes up softball

The women's softball team dropped their opening game of the weekend on Saturday  14-2 to Butler CCC and then rebounded with a 9-1 win over the Pioneers. WCCC then went onto sweep Prince George's CC on Sunday 9-1 and 15-4 to run their current win streak to three games. The Wolfpack just couldn't get things  moving in the opening game with BCCC but they found their stride in game two and woke up. Melanie Welc  picked up all three wins in the circle over the weekend while adding six hits along with tagging a homerun in the opening game with PGCC. Several Wolfpack players continued to swing  hot bats during their four game series as Renee Jones collected six hits, Whitney Thompson chipped in three hits, Emily Baker added four RBI's while Sarah Stiffey tossed in two hits as WCCC improved to 7-7 on the season.
