Softball Wins Season Opener

Pittsburgh, PA - The 2016 softball season got under way as WCCC scored a 22-4 win over Penn State Greater Allegheny. Catcher Shelby Kimmick was perfect at the plate in game one going a smooth 4 for 4, while teammates Alexa DeFrank and Leigha Arison both had strong afternoons at the plate as well. DeFrank and Arison were each a perfect 3 for 3. WCCC opened up the game with 3 runs in the top half of the first only to find themselves trailing 4-3 after one inning but the Wolfpack settled in as Kylie Gansor picked her first collegiate win going 5 innings and striking out 10 batters. Game two's action saw WCCC jump out to an early 9 run lead before PSGA forfeited the game. Game two's final score will be a 7-0 WCCC win.  The Wolfpack are back in action on Wednesday, as they travel to Butler CCC for a 3:00 p.m. doubleheader.
